Podcasting is a method of publishing files to the Internet through a subscription. Once you subscribe to a podcast feed, new episodes are automatically downloaded to your computer. Podcast episodes can then be listened to or viewed on computers or MP3 players without the need of being online. Hunter College has podcasts in the categories of: Academic Support Services, Student Life, Hunter Courses, Faculty/Staff and Prospective Students. You can subscribe to them using software programs called podcatchers. iTunes and Juice are examples of free cross-platform podcatchers.
Interested in becoming involved in podcasting? "Podcasting @ Hunter" is a pilot project launched for the Spring 2007 semester. Please contact us with your questions or ideas and we will work with you to formulate a plan for using podcasting in future semesters.
